BETHESDA, MD 13 Aug 2015—Data from FDA suggest that responding to recalls—including the 1647 recalls of drug products and 992 biological product recalls that were initiated last year—is a routine part of hospital pharmacy practice.
What may not be routine is for the vigilance of a staff member to precipitate a product recall, as was recently the case at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.
